Mechanical Engineering Major
Batesville, AR
During my college search, I examined several universities. After comparing many institutions, I chose Tech because of class size and the higher caliber of professors. The professors at Tech, despite their high level education, are still willing to sit down with students and explain concepts one-on-one. Also, Tech is one of only three ABET (Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology) accredited schools in the state of Arkansas who offer both mechanical and electrical engineering. At Tech they highly promote engineering and award ten engineering scholarships to freshman, something I was fortunate to be awarded. Being at Tech has taught me a lot about being a leader and helped me develop my leadership style. I was elected to be the Vice President of Member Development for the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Not only have I become a better person while at Tech, but have also made lifelong friends. Tech is a place full of friendly people. It’s a place where you can learn anything, because the tools are at your fingertips. Tech is a place where you learn who you are and who you want to be.
